Sheepguard Oral

Sheepguard Oral is a single active, short acting, oral sheep drench made by Zoetis

It comes in 15L

It contains Moxidectin, as well as selenium 

Dose rate is 1ml per 5kg

ESI is 7 days

Do not use in Goats

Being a single active drench, no farm should rely on this drench for full efficacy or use it time after time

It should only be used where a farmer is needing a low ESI – 7 days – or is really struggling for funds and needs a cheap drench that will give some efficacy even if not perfect

As always, a worm egg count should be conducted before any sheep drench is used

Best practice is to always use combination drenches (like Triguard), and add into a program the use of the drenches with newer actives (Startect and Zolvix Plus), as well as use a range of management tools to monitor, reduce drenching, and therefore delay drench resistance.

Always be careful giving two sources of selenium from (ie. Two different products containing selenium) on the same day, particularly to sheep in non-selenium deficient areas and those under 25kg.

Sheepguard Oral can be used through any regular drench gun
