Feeding Directions

  • Rumevite Sheep & Cattle Cubes is suitable for feeding to adult sheep and cattle grazing mature dry pasture or in conjunction with hay.
  • Before starting to feed Rumevite Sheep & Cattle Cubes ensure that the appropriate animal husbandry procedures are completed – consult a veterinarian for advice. Livestock of similar size and age should be drafted into groups.
  • Before starting to feed Rumevite Sheep & Cattle Cubes ensure all livestock have been fed with palatable hay to appetite for the first day – ensure all livestock are full with palatable hay.
  • Start feeding livestock with Rumevite Sheep & Cattle Cubes at a rate of 0.25 kg per 50 kg liveweight per day. The rate of feeding can be gradually increased each day for the next 21 days up to a maximum of 1.0 kg per 50 kg liveweight per head per day.
  • Rumevite Sheep & Cattle Cubes can either be fed in self-feeders or troughs.
  • When feeding Rumevite Sheep & Cattle Cubes in a self-feeder or trough, ensure that dry pasture, or hay is readily available and that livestock are able to eat this forage to appetite at all times.
  • When using self-feeders, adjust slide settings to regulate feed intake and achieve recommended feeding rates. The feeder slide should be set so that stock have to lick the feed out from under the slide.
  • When using self-feeders, adult cattle will require up to 35 cm of trough space per head; adult sheep will require up to 12 cm of trough space per head.
  • If feeding by hand into troughs, split the daily allocation into two feeds.
