Fasinex 240 is an oral flukicide for cattle and sheep. It is a low dose product.

It contains the active ingredient Triclabendazole, targeted for liver fluke. It is registered for all stages of liver fluke - early immature, immature and mature stages

Areas where liver fluke is found, are typically throughout south-eastern Australia generally where rainfall is 600mm or more or in drier areas where irrigation channels are accessible by livestock. Liver fluke also needs the presence of a snail which is the intermediate host.

It comes in 5L and 13L

Can be used in dry dairy cattle, not less than 21 days prior to calving

ESI:

Cattle – 56 days Sheep – 63 days

Dose rate: (also refer to dose rate table)

Cattle – 2.5ml/50kg, administered orally

Sheep – 0.5ml/10kg, administered orally, not recommended for sheep under 15kg

Applicators:

Sheep – any regular drench gun, however with ability to handle the low dose rate, so a smaller barrel is more appropriate. Wash applicator with water

Cattle – use a manual applicator or power doser, with an oral drench hook attachment. Wash out with water.

Where there is a large variation in weight range, draft into two or more groups by weight to avoid excessive under or over dosing.

Fasinex 240 is a great choice where a producer wants to treat for liver fluke, as they can then choose a more suitable intestinal worm drench rather than reaching for the combination fluke/worm products which often have single older active ingredients which can often no longer be relied upon for efficacy.
